History of V Photo
It was raining. The sky was dark. The world seemed to be still. I, with my friend Briana Yancey, decided it would be a great day to dance in the rain and catch a few snapshots while we did so. A week later, it was overcast again. We decided to have a photoshoot. Briana did her make-up while I tried my best to figure out how to use the point and shoot my parents got me for Christmas a few months previous.
A day later, we took the pictures to a photo lab and they printed. We were shocked to see the amazing quality that turned out from this mock photoshoot we had. When Brianas parents saw the pictures, they demanded that we take more.
One night we were sitting in her house, trying to figure out what to do that night. Then it hit us, lets start a photography company. I would be the photographer and Briana would be the make-up artist. Our goal was to make everyone feel beautiful. We called our company SaBy Photography (Steven Andrew, after me, and Briana Yancey, after her).
After a few photoshoots with friends to build our portfolios, we began to charge. We did their make-up, took their pictures, and processed them through Photoshop before giving them digital copies of the images.
Six months later, Briana and I took our portfolio and applied for jobs at Glamour Shots, a high-fashion portraiture studio. For the next seven months I flourished. Taking my photography skills from amateur to professional. By the time I left Glamour Shots, I had a sales average of one thousand dollars for every client of mine. Not to mention I learned how to shoot in studio, not just outdoors.
About four months into working at Glamour Shots, Briana went her own way and I continued with SaBy for only another month before transiting to the Steven Andrew Project. An industrial take on my portraits. In my freelance work, I mainly shot teens my age but also did business headshots and model portfolios. At work in the studio I shot everything from babies to sexy, families to senior pictures. All with that high-fashion spin on the photo.
After leaving Glamour Shots I took some time off for some personal time, returning eight months later to pick back up on my work. Thats when Ven© Photography was born. I took all my experiences and decided that I would focus on editorial style portraits.
People come to me for beautiful artwork of themselves that looks straight out of a magazine, not for ordinary pictures. I provide the highest quality of service and product, for a price that beats any other photographer that offers the same thing. Welcome to a new brand of portraits. Welcome to Ven© Photography.

My favorite quote describes the very essence of my beliefs and the way I view life. Julius Caesar declared Veni, Vedi, Vici in 47 B.C. I've experienced my worst fears, Ive seen love and hope but also pain and hatred, and above all I rose from the destruction I brought onto myself and the pain brought on by others.
In my novel, Surviving Steven, you find that my journey of self exploration at a therapeutic wilderness camp is both intense and entertaining. Its dark yet funny. It is my journal from one of the darkest moments in my life. I hold nothing back, and I share with the world my life and my story of suffering and redemption.
Walkabout- a rite of passage that the Australian Aborigines practiced. A person would undergo a journey during adolescence and live in the wilderness for a period of time. It is a spiritual journey an individual takes as a transition into adulthood.
I came home one night to my parents furious with the decisions that I had been making. Within the twenty-four hours I found myself stranded in the middle of the western desert of Utah with only the essentials of survival and a journal. It was my turn to experience the Australian Aborigines walkabout.
I hope my story reaches many and changes the lives of everyone, I was lucky to experience what most can never even think of happening to them. But aside from my non-fiction book, I write Science-Fiction/Fantasy novels. Please explore my projects listed above and be prepared to be enchanted.
